Time

So today I made time to play with some of the new techniques and tools from Stretch Your Stamps. I wanted to get the cards posted on the site before it closes since it is such a new thing for meUsing the ideas from class and some ideas from Pinterest, I made three cards. I spent more time than I want to admit, but it was FUN!

First was the reverse stamp, colored with Stampin Up markers. I added the vellum piece and embossed with white... then added the butterfly with dimensionals.

Next try was a flower set with my first try coloring with copic markers. Love them... and I did use watercolor paper. Also the butterfly stamp and matching diecut from the class list. Sentiment from another Stampin Up set.

Finally to finish the day, I tried the background stamp with versamark on the paper before I cut the squares, and embossed with seafoam white. Not as easy as I thought! Rounded two corners of each square, added a button center and completed with a banner. Then decided to add the black behind the large square, and some white dashes. Still feel like it needs something, just not sure what!

Hope to make some time tomorrow to play a little more! I did post to the Wrap Up Gallery. Next time I hope to link to this blog... Then I'll really be public!

Stretch Your Stamps

I am taking the online course Stretch Your Stamps and am really learning so much... Today I made a new set of stationery for Emma with the techniques from the class. So much easier than the first set that I made! I have been watching the classes for the past few days because I started late.

My computer learning so far is all about blogging, adding comments on the forum and posting my cards on Flicker. I have a picture attached to my online name, obeewright, and thus far seems to be going pretty well.

Here's the stationery. Since I posted on Flicker I didn't connect to my blog. Not brave enough yet ... maybe next time :}

Anniversary Time

All three of our kids have their anniversaries within about 3 weeks! I went with the same theme for all of them just to be on time! The idea came from a card I saw on Pinterest, although I made my own pear and designed the card...

I embossed the basic card with the hearts and then embossed the pears, each with one of the dotted designs, using two different greens from SU. Like the results... but can also see some changes I could make... like ribbon colors :)

Birthday

JW had a birthday on July 9th and we become a year apart in age again. I tried making my own design... used the die to shape what I think resembles a postage stamp, since that is his passion. I do like the results and am feeling more confident about trying my own ideas... scary!

SU Not quite Navy... DSP paper with 1" squares... and white twine for bow.

Summer Penpals

PA grandchildren- Emma (6) and William (5) have agreed to penpal with me this summer. I am so excited to try new cards and LOVE getting their mail... First I made them each a set of stationery with individually designed paper and envelopes for each - some addressed to me. I also included the commemorative stamps since Grampy is a stamp collector! I have to admit- their artwork and hand written notes far exceed my notecards in return - but I am enjoying the practice making cards.

Here are some examples....

Close up of the embossing on the card. I did it on both the Concord Grape and the Summer Sun cards...

On this card I used my own design! One of the first that I've tried...
